This is a tool your organization uses to make it easier for you to manage when you are volunteering. This tool allows you to set your schedule and communicate with ministry leaders when and where you are available to serve. Did you receive an email like this inviting you to your newly created Service Planning account? Getting your volunteer account set up is easy. Let's walk through how to do it together.
Start with clicking the link in the email where you see accept invitation. This will bring up Ministry Brands Amplify where you will set up your login and confirm your basic contact information. Then click on the Service Planning tile. Your assignments will display on your dashboard when you log into Service Planning. This will show you the dates and times you are scheduled to volunteer for your organization. Whether you have responded to these assignments or not. To update your profile settings, click on the profile image in the top right hand corner. Then click my account. Next, click the blue edit this info button. Note that some information cannot be updated here and must be updated through your Amplify dashboard. For the additional information, feel free to update what is required. Once you have reviewed and updated, click save. You can also add an additional communication method by clicking the communication settings tab and then the add a method of communication button. The additional methods can be edited or deleted from this same area later if needed.
When you have been scheduled to serve for an upcoming event, you will receive a scheduling notification. Right from within the email notification, you can accept, set yourself as tentative, or decline the upcoming event. It really is that simple to notify your ministry leaders if you will be able to make it to the upcoming event. If you added your mobile number as a method of communication, you can also receive a scheduling notification via text message. This message will contain URLs to the service planning website. One to accept and a separate URL to decline the upcoming event. This is another easy way that you can get updates to your ministry leaders if you are able to make it to an upcoming event.
When you are on the My Schedule tab of service planning, you will see any assignments that are waiting on your response. Here, you can accept assignments, set yourself as tentative, or decline an upcoming event. We recommend that if you are marking yourself as tentative, you will still need to reach out to your ministry leader to let them know if you will be able to make the event or not. Now take a look at the calendar on the My Schedule tab of service planning on the right hand side of your screen. Any day that has already been scheduled for an event will be noted with a small green check. You can select a date if you would prefer to serve then. Then, you can click the blue prefer this day button. Then click save.
To let others know you were unavailable to serve on a certain date, click the date on the calendar. And click mark yourself as unavailable for that day or date range. Then click save. One other feature of service planning allows ministry leaders and volunteers to communicate with one another using a built-in message board. If this has been activated by your leaders, you can find that in the menu bar.
